Investment approach

Hokma’s investment approach connects proprietary data, research agents, portfolio construction, execution and continuous learning within one regulated decision loop. Research, risk and implementation operate as a single system, preserving context from the first hypothesis through to realised outcomes.

Daily model-driven forecasts are tested across market regimes, instruments and simulated paths before they can influence capital. Validated signals are translated into diversified portfolios through explicit risk constraints, disciplined sizing and controlled execution.

Forecast error, realised risk and execution outcomes feed back into the next research cycle. The result is a repeatable architecture designed to improve with use while retaining transparent controls, institutional governance and human accountability.

Jonathan Lee

Co-Founder & CIO

Jonathan Lee, CAIA, is a founding director of Hokma IQ, bringing two decades of experience in investment management, portfolio strategy, and asset allocation. He has managed diverse portfolios across institutional, family office, and hedge fund environments, emphasizing quantitative and AI-driven approaches.

Jonathan served as Head of Investment Strategy for a multi-billion-dollar single-family office, overseeing a $1.5 billion portfolio. Under his leadership, the portfolio achieved exceptional performance, delivering a 20% return with a Sharpe ratio of 1.5, driven by factor-based strategies and machine learning portfolio optimization.

Prior to this, Jonathan led the Investment Lab at Citigroup Institutional Client Group, providing innovative cross-asset solutions to institutional clients across the UK and Nordics. He was also an Investment Analyst at Lansdowne Partners, contributing to its long/short equity strategies during periods of significant outperformance.

With expertise spanning hedge funds, private equity, fixed income, and equities, Jonathan combines technical acumen with strategic oversight to advance Hokma IQ’s mission of revolutionizing investment management through cutting-edge AI technology.

Andrew Jackson

Co-Founder

Andrew Jackson, PhD, is a Founding Director of Hokma IQ, with more than 20 years of experience across artificial intelligence, machine learning, advanced analytics and quantitative trading.

Andrew has held senior leadership roles at G42 and Palantir Technologies, applying AI and data science to complex strategic and commercial challenges. At G42, he served as Chief AI Officer, working with OpenAI on national AI initiatives and overseeing governance associated with Stargate UAE. He also founded Inception, a leading regional AI research organisation, and established a Microsoft-backed AI Foundation focused on AI governance and best practice.

Alongside Hokma IQ, Andrew is a General Partner and Chief AI Officer at B Capital.

Earlier in his career, he worked at Susquehanna International Group as an Algorithmic Strategy Engineer, developing and deploying high-frequency trading strategies.

Andrew holds a PhD from Trinity College Dublin and brings a rare combination of deep AI expertise, quantitative finance experience and investment insight to Hokma IQ.
